Rainbow Drives Success For EDS

Rainbow Communications, Northern Ireland’s leading independent telecoms provider, has signed a new £250 000 contract with Express Distribution Services (EDS) of Lurgan.

EDS is one of Ireland’s premier distribution services operating a fleet of almost 40 vehicles servicing a range of customers in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK.

The company previously used a range of telecoms providers but has now consolidated all of its telecoms business into Rainbow Communications with a bespoke range of products and services designed specifically for the needs of EDS.  The solution also includes online tracking of all EDS vehicles, live tachograph, monitoring of driver behaviour and the provision of over 50 sim-cards to enable EDS to maximise on their existing telecoms hardware investment.

David Neill, Managing Director at EDS said: “Previous to the appointment of Rainbow Communications we used a range of providers to service our requirements and encountered a number of issues including losing a lot of customer contacts from calls ‘getting dropped’ when being transferred, clearly an issue which needed to be resolved in our effort to provide a first-class service for our customers. As a busy distribution service with over 70 staff across two depots including 37 drivers out on the road, it became increasingly business critical for us to find a more reliable and cost effective solution to our telecoms requirement.

“Rainbow Communications created a bespoke package to suit our needs six months ago and already we are benefiting from increased efficiencies due to the easy to use and highly reliable telecoms platform we have in place.  Furthermore, with the driver tracking facility we now know exactly where all our drivers are at any time which helps us coordinate customer orders and deliveries much more efficiently, ” David added.
